We would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for a great season of fishing and a lot of fun.  We appreciate your business and look forward to seeing you in the spring!  Thanks from your friends on the Outcast.

December 21, 2005

Tremendous day of Blackfishing!  The men had fish up to 10 lbs. and headed in early.  This is a great way to end the last trip of 2005!  Happy New Year!

December 18, 2005

Decent day of Blackfishing, a pick up from yesterday.  We caught fish up to 11 lbs.

December 17, 2005

Fishing for Blacks was no great shakes today,  but not bad.

December 15, 2005

Blackfishing was on the slower side today.  We had a few fish on every drop we hit, but it was tough fishing for most of the day.

December 11, 2005

Most of the day was slow.  But in the last part of the day fishing picked up quick.  We headed to our final drop and the fish were chomping.  We had Blackfish up to 7 lbs.

December 10, 2005

Yet another first-rate day!  We limited out and headed in early.  Blackfish weren’t as big as the day before, but they were plentiful.  Blackfish ranged from 3-5 lbs.

December 9, 2005

Fishing finally picked up steam again after two tough days.  Caught plenty of fish, fulfilled our limits.  Enjoyed some big fish, ranging from 4-9 lbs.

December 6, 2005

Seems like a repeat of the 5th.  Fish just don’t want to bite.  Using green and white crabs for bait with little luck.

December 5, 2005

Slow day of Blackfishing.  The fish did not want to bite.  Started fishing in 50 ft. of water with only a handful of fish, moved to 80 ft. with the same results.  Tomorrow’s another day!

December 4, 2005

Top-notch day of fishing.  We stayed in the 60ft. depth range all day and had great results.  The Blackfish ranged from 3-7 lbs.

December 3, 2005

Excellent day of Blackfishing.  There were plenty of fish around, making for a good catch.  We tried some deeper water fishing today, with fair results in the deep.  We had better life in the 60 ft. water range.

November 27, 2005

First-rate day of Blackfishing.   The fish seemed to want the white crabs today more than the green crabs.  The fish ranged from 3-7 lbs.

November 26, 2005

Amazing day of Blackfishing.  We had excellent results, no problem getting limits, came in early.  Blackfish ranged from 3-5 lbs.

November 25, 2005

Another decent day of Blackfishing.  Fish ranged from 3 to 6 lbs.  Not a stellar day, but ok.

November 22, 2005

An average day of Blackfishing, not as solid as the last two days.  But there were enough fish around to keep everybody happy.

November 19, 2005

Another good day of Blackfishing today.  Stayed with Blackfishing all day, never had to switch over to Seabass since anchoring conditions stayed good all day.  Blackfish up to 6 lbs.

November 16, 2005

Good Blackfishing today.  We had fish up to 8 lbs. Better fishing in the morning.  When the tide slacked off we headed offshore a little for some Seabass.  Seabass fishing was solid, with fish up to 3 lbs.

November 13, 2005

Blackfishing was a bit on the slow side today.  The Blackfish bit on green and white crabs.

November 12, 2005

Decent Blackfishing in the early a.m. Then the hard outgoing current came and seemed to shut the Blackfish down for a couple of hours. Then we had a pick of Blackfish when the current slowed-up. On the slack water we headed off-shore for Seabass with good results.

November 5, 2005

Strong Blackfishing again today. Fish up to 6.5 lbs. Also a very good amount of Seabass to 2 lbs.

November 6, 2005

Respectable Blackfishing again today, not phenomenal but enough to keep everyone happy. Fish ranged from just keeper sized to about 5.5 lbs.

November 3, 2005

A first-rate day of Blackfishing with good numbers of fish. We also had a good quantity of Seabass. Blackfish ranged from 2-4 lbs. and Seabass from 1-2 lbs.

November 1, 2005

Very good Blackfishing today! Just a little shy of our limits, but fish were good sizes and there were some good sized Seabass to take up the slack. Blackfish ranged from 3-6 lbs.

October 30, 2005

Real nasty and windy day today. Blackfishing was slow. But the Seabass fishing was pretty good. We had fish to 2.5 lbs.

October 29, 2005

Slow Blackfishing today. Weather was too nasty to get off into the deeper water for Seabass.

October 25, 2005

Blown out of another Tuna Trip.

October 23, 2005

Again we had another Canyon trip planned, blown out due to weather.

October 20, 2005

Finally got out to the Canyons. Tuna fishing was just OK, water temp ranged around 69 degrees. We managed 5 Yellowfin to 65 lbs., lost 2 Tuna and one Swordfish.

October 17, 2005

Another Canyon trip blown out.

October 12, 2005

Same as Oct. 8

October 8, 2005

Canyon trip planned, stayed tied to dock due to weather.

October 7, 2005

Good Blackfishing today. All caught limits, fish to 5 lbs. Caught fish on green and white crabs.

October 1, 2005

Took the weekend off to get married. Best catch of my life! She ranges from 117-120 lbs. and was caught on a 36 ft. Downeaster! Her wedding gift was extra small Grundens!

September 26, 2005

Headed out for Blues and Albicore today. The morning started slow with the Blues, once again they were leader-shy. Upon change of tide it didn’t matter anymore because they were hitting everything. Blues came hot and heavy along with the Albicore on 15 lb. leader and jigs. Blues ranged from 4-10 lbs. and Albicore ranged from 6-10 lbs.

September 25, 2005

Respectable day of Seabass fishing. Solid number of Seabass, and decent-sized fish.

September 24, 2005

We had a Bluefish trip planned for today but the wind was blowing too hard to get off-shore. So we stayed inside the bay and had a great day with Weakfishing, and some Bluefish mixed in. The majority of Weakfish were caught on live Peanut Bunker. The Weakfish ranged from 16-25 inches.

September 18, 2005

Moderate Seabass fishing. We had decent numbers but sizes were on the small end.

September 14, 2005

Repeat of the 11th, waiting for good weather…

September 11, 2005

It was a blow-out canyon trip. Lousy weather, too much wind. We stayed tied to dock.

September 3, 2005

We made our first run to the canyons today. We had good results. We caught 2 Albicore approximately 30 lbs. on the troll. We also had 5 Yellowfin and 1 Albicore on bait (live squid and sardines). We caught 6 more Yellowfin on jigs, 10 oz. DBs and Gold Bars. All in all it was a worth-while trip.

August 30, 2005

Bluefishing was average. We had an acceptable amount of fish but they were on the small size, only ranging from 3-5 lbs. We fished with bunker as usual.

August 27, 2005

Solid Fluke fishing today. Managed to get our limits with one fish tipping the scale at 5.5 lbs! Majority of fish were caught on 2-3 oz. Bucktails with fluke-belly strips.

August 21, 2005

We knew things had to get better! Phenomenal Seabass fishing! All good sized fish, from 1.5-2.5 lbs. We used skimmer clams for bait and we also caught a good amount of Seabass on the jigs.

August 20, 2005

Blue fishing was tough, Blues definitely leader-shy. We had to use mono leaders once again. We had a strong amount of hook-ups but it was tough to get the fish in the boat due to bite-offs. We also tried for Albicore with no success.

August 16, 2005

Dejavu! Just like yesterday.

August 15, 2005

Tough day of Fluking. It would have been nice to have the Jersey size limits! Most of the fish were in that range. So we switched over to Seabass and they didn’t seem to want to cooperate either. Just one of those days.

August 13, 2005

Little slow on the Bluefishing in the A.M. The Blues seemed to be leader-shy. We had to go down to mono to get the fish to bite which meant a lot of break-offs. But we managed to land a good number of fish. The fish ranged from 5-7 lbs. and were caught on fresh bunker.

August 11, 2005

Pretty good Fluke fishing today. We had a good amount of keepers, enough to keep everyone happy and busy for the day. There was also plenty of short action.

August 7, 2005

Decent Seabass fishing today, not as good at it has been, but definitely acceptable. Caught the Seabass on skimmer clams and Peanut Bunker. All in all it was an OK trip.

August 6, 2005

First rate Blue-fishing today. We had some really nice fish, averaging 8-12 lbs. Fished the mud buoys in 17 fathoms. We used fresh bunker and bunker-chunks. Boys got arm-weary, we headed for the barn early.

August 1, 2005

Had a tough time of Fluking today. Good numbers of fluke, but keepers were hard to come by. So we bailed out on some decent Seabass fishing.

August 2, 2005

Another repeat of August 1 st. NY keepers were hard to come by, if we had NJ size limits we wouldn’t have had a problem. So once again we bailed out on some good Seabass fishing.

July 30, 2005

Ok day of Seabass fishing. We had fish up to 3 lbs. Continued to fish with skimmer clams and live Killies. We also threw some Peanut Bunkers into the mix and they seemed to work well.

July 29, 2005

Top-notch Seabass fishing. Fish up to 2.5 lbs. Most fish were approximately 1.5 lbs. The Seabass were caught on skimmer clams and strip baits.

July 26, 2005

Very good Bluefishing! Fishing mud buoys in 17 fathoms. Used fresh bunker- chunks with fish ranging from 5-12 lbs. Limited out on blues.

July 24, 2005

Excellent fluke fishing! All had limits. Fish up to 3.5 lbs. Caught on fluke belly and spearing combos. All fish were caught in 50-60 ft. of water.

July 23, 2005 a.m.

Tough conditions in the a.m., wind-against-tide, which made fluke fishing slow. On the change of the tide on the outgoing water fishing really picked up steam.
Fluke up to 4 lbs. with numerous 3 lb. fish. We had no problem catching limits, plus many throw-backs.

July 20, 2005 a.m.

Amazing fluke fishing today. We caught 3 fluke in the
6 lb. class, a couple of 5 lb. fish, numerous 4 lb.
fish, and a multitude of 3 lb. fish. At many points during the day all rods were bending at the same time.
Arm weary we packed it in early.

July 18, 2005 a.m.

Half-day bluefish half-day fluke. We fished the mud buoys early, the fishing was slow. Next we moved to
17 Fathoms for fast-paced fishing. Later we switched over to Fluke with great results, fish up to 4 lbs.

July 16, 2005 a.m.

Today we fished the Raritan Bay Anglers Tournament.
Although we did not place, we had fish up to 5 lbs.
We caught many 3 lb. fish, all had limits. Fished catch and release the rest of the day, released many fish. We'll try it again next year.

July 14, 2005 a.m.

Exceptional fluke fishing yet again! Numerous fish in the 4 lb. class, no problem catching limits. We came in early with satisfied and happy customers, all in all it was a great trip.

July 9, 2005 a.m.

Another day of first-rate bluefishing! We fished 17 Fathoms in the morning with great results. Then fishing slowed by early afternoon so we headed over to the mud buoys with fantastic results.

17 fathoms. Bluefish up to 12 lbs. using fresh bunker and bunker chum.

Like yesterday, fluking was phenomenal! Fluke were even larger today, up to 4 lbs. Spearing and fluke belly was the choice base.

July 2, 2005 a.m.

Excellent Fluke fishing! We had fish up to 3 lbs. and everyone had limits. Fishing was so good we packed it in early.

June 25, 2005

We focused solely on Sea Bass with excellent results. Plenty of Sea Bass up to 3lbs. with most fish weighing in at 1.5-2 lbs. Guests had their fill of Sea Bass by noon allowing us to switch over to jigging bluefish for approximately 1.5 hours. We
managed an estimated 25 bluefish between 4-5lbs.

June 22, 2005

Striper fishing picked up steam once again!
Guests limited out early, played catch and release for another hour. They caught fish up to 23 lbs on fresh and live bunker. Then we decided to switch over to Sea Bass for a few hours with decent results. We used skimmer clams for the Sea Bass.

June 18, 2005

Split charter once again. Half-day Sea Bass, half-day Stripers. We fished a.m. Striped Bass with a slow pick of bass up to 22lbs. Sea Bass fishing was better than the Striper fishing, but we had to fish through a lot of dogfish.

June 16, 2005

Mirror image of the action we had on June 15th, except the fish were even larger! Pool fish weighed in at 35 lbs., smallest fish weighed in at 24lbs.
Everything caught on fresh bunker. Great day all in all.

June 15, 2005

Top-notch Striper fishing! Fish up to 28 lbs.
All had limits. We fished fresh and live bunker sending the crew and guests home smiling.

June 11, 2005 a.m.

Today we concentrated our efforts strictly on Sea Bass with very good results. We had good numbers in Sea Bass, catching fish up to 3 lbs.

June 8, 2005 p.m.

Today we had our pick of Stripers up to 20lbs on fresh bunker. Tough time getting through all the bluefish. All in all it was a good trip.

June 5, 2005 a.m.

Knew all that good striped bass fishing had to come to an end for at least one day! It was a slow pick of striped bass up to 19 lbs. We had a ton of bluefish from 3-9 lbs.

June 4, 2005

Today we took a break from the stripers and headed out for some sea bass. Very good seabass fishing, fish up to 3 lbs. with most fish ranging from 1.5-2 lbs. Also had a good sprinkling of blackfish.

June 1, 2005 a.m.

Superb fishing. Live-lining with bunker led to some great catches and fun fishing. The fish ranged from
18-29 lbs. All caught limits early. Fished catch and release the rest of the day.

May 30, 2005 a.m.

First-rate striper fishing once again. The fish were generally good sized, ranging from 13-26 lbs. We had our limits early once again, had a blast live-lining and bunker chunking. Can't count how many fish released. Passengers got worn out from great fishing so we came in early.

May 28, 2005 a.m.

Another brilliant trip. The fish ranged from 15-22 lbs. The boys had a lot of fun live-lining bunker.

May 21, 2005 a.m.

Another extraordinary charter. We had our limits by 7:30 a.m. Can't count how many 20 lb. fish were released! Arm weary and satisfied, we came in early again.

May 20, 2005 a.m.

We had rain all day. Hard Southeast wind. Even under tough conditions had limits by 8:30 a.m. Stripers caught on live and chunk bunker. Many Stripers in the low-mid 20 lbs. Once again we lost count of how many we released.

May 19, 2005 p.m.

Amazing Striper fishing! Everyone had their limits within the first two hours of fishing! We caught them on bunker chunks-they were hungry! Stripers were in the 20 lb. class. Looks like the '05 season is just as good as the '03-'04 seasons. Once again we lost count of how many we released.

any Seabass yet.

April 24, 2005

Today we had a split charter. In the a.m. we fished for striped bass. Plenty of short bass this morning, with some Jersey slot bass, but were unable to keep any. But we had one keeper of 29 inches. We switched to flounder around 10:30 a.m. Decent flounder fishing, we had 30 flounder up to 3 lbs.

April 23, 2005

I was hoping to have a blackfish report today.
But strong east winds cancelled my trip. Hopefully we'll be out next Sunday, May 1st. We'll give you an update.

April 17, 2005

Flounder fishing was a little slower today. We managed 38 flounder, up to 2 lbs. The flounder were biting on both mussels and worms. The incoming water was very slow today which may have affected the incoming tide bite. We still have a few dates available in April for flounder and bass.

April 16, 2005

Finally the flounder fishing picked up steam. Today the boat limited out with flounder, up to 2 lbs. The fish seemed to be taking mussels in the morning and worms in the afternoon. We hope this is a sign of good things to come.

April 5, 2005

Flounder fishing still slow in the bay. We managed a handful of fish along with approximately 12 striped bass which were released (season was closed). We hope as the water clears over the next week that flounder fishing picks up.

February 7, 2005
