June 5, 2010 a.m. sea bass trip

Today's sea bass trip was for Lou Mike and the boys from the MTA. By kicking off our first sea bass trip of the year and it was great with the boat making its limits, there was a lots of quality fish from 2 1/2 to 3 pounds fish, and one of Lou fish was at 4 pounds. And all the other ones were nice size fish in 14 and 15 inch range, and real healthy with beautiful colors,

May 30, 2010 a.m. striped bass trip

Striped bass trip was for Fred and the boys from the beach Como club, the morning started out real slow with the incoming water, once the tide started going out the fish started to bite, the guys were able to land 8 fish up to 26 pounds in lost around six bass, the striped bass fishing was definitely off from the past weeks.

May 27, 2010 striped bass open boat p.m. trip

Striped bass night trip was for John and Tony, we arrived at the fishing grounds around 5:30 p.m. we started to chunk and we had a few bluefish right away, then the bluefish started to really turn on, so we picked up the hook and made a move, as soon our lines hit the water we had 2 hookups one was a bass and the other was a bluefish, we thought something was going to happen, and it did, the lightning storms started to roll in ,so we had to call it a night, we only had an hour and 40 minutes fishing time then we had to call it a night. Sorry guys will get them next time

May 25, 2010 striped bass open boat p.m. trip

Striped bass night trip was for Rob, Jonathan and Rob, it only took 20 minutes to get the striped bass started, we had the striped bass in our chum slick for a good two hours. The boat was limited in less than 30 minutes then we played catch and release the rest of the time, there wasn't no huge fish. But they all ranged between 15 to 20 pounds, and the best part was that there was only a handful of bluefish, which was welcome for the customers that wanted them. It was a insane 2 hour bite.

May 23, 2010 a.m.

Striped bass trip was for John and Earl and his dad and the boys, the morning started out pretty good, with 4 bass landed right away, it was a pretty good sign. Then The boat traffic started to come and shut right down. We made a move and we picked a few more striped bass, when all said and done the guys landed 9 striped bass for the day just shy of 30 pounds, and lost a handful of fish also.

May 20, 2010 p.m. trip

Tonight's striped bass trip was for Bob and his family, it only took a little while from the striped bass to start to turn on, when the bite was on it was on, there was no problem with their limits an the fish ranged between 18 to 30 pounds we couldn't keep up with the bass that night, it was an excellent trip once again,

May 15, 2010 a.m. trip

Today's striped bass trip was for John , the boat had its limit of striped bass fish ranged between 15 and 20 pounds, it was definitely a tough morning bite, the fish didn't turn on to later on in the afternoon, early morning water temperatures that came through was between 48 and 49°, once the water warms up to around 53° the striped bass started to to feed, there wasn't that much bluefish around today in the cooler waters, all in all it was a good trip,

May 13, 2010 a.m. trip

Today's we fish for striped bass will Larry and his brother-in-law. The morning started out just a little slow once the tide turned around, it was drop and stick fishing , all fish ranged between 15 to 25 pounds it was a great afternoon bite.

May 13, 2010 p.m. open boat trip

Striped bass trip was for Jeff Joey and Tom, went right back to the same area where we left off with those nice fish, the only difference was the striped bass was not cooperating, the life was there, striped bass just weren't feeding right we had a couple of opportunities but didn't conduct. Even the bluefish wasn't committed suicide. It was our first trip of the year to go home with no bass. But there was some action with the bluefish that night.

May 8, 2010 morning

Was out today and bass fishing was good in little more than an hour's time we boated over 12 fish in 15 to 20 pound class, only keeping our limit then it was catch and release, haven't seen this kind of fishing since 2006 like I said from early April.

May 6, 2010

Thursday night open boat striped bass trip. Fishing was great for Ray's group from champion ink. And also Mike & Anthony's group. No problems with limits. fish ranged 15 to 25 pounds . There was plenty of action all night between the striped bass and bluefish,

May 1, 2010

Striped bass trip was for Mike, Bobby and Eddie group; fishing today was real good it wasn't like the previous day's lock and load but it was definitely good; with the guys landing over 16 keeper stripers ranging between 10 and 20 pounds, but only keeping their limit for the group. There are bluefish around and they are definitely manageable not overtaking the striped bass fishing yet, Heavy schools of bunker are showing up all around, that is a good sign for the bass fishing to come for this month of May.

April 29 2010 pm trip

Thursday night open boat all-out blitz , as soon as our lines hit the water it was locked and load, the guys had upwards of 20 fish or more, with also some bluefish in the mix, it was a catcher released night. It was an awesome night, after the guys were a little beat up from landing all those fish between 10 and 20 pounds and some bluefish, me Captain Rob and Captain Joe got to cash in also on the action with landing 4 fish up to 20 pound range. All fish were released but only keeping our limit for our open boat trip.

April 24, 2010 morning trip

Striped bass trip was for Rob and his crew. It was a carbon copy of April 18 trip in the ocean, but the only difference was this time we finished Raritan Bay with fresh live bunker . Within 20 minutes the guys had their limit, and for the next hour and a half we played catch and release, as soon as the bunker chunks hit the bottom they were picked up and hooked up with a bass, it just reminded me how our fishing was back in 2006 with any giving tide you were going out and doing 30 to 40 fish a charter I really hope that this kind of fishing will hang around in RaritanBay as long as our bunker stays around our fish should stay with us. All the fish ranged between 10 and 20 pounds it was another awesome trip for April.

April 21, 2010 morning trip

Striped bass trip was for Joe and Mike and their crew, we went right down to the South again where we left off with the big body of fish , but the only thing this time the body of fish was not there, we spent an hour looking around they were nowhere to be found we had no other choice is to put away the jigs and go up to the north and crack some clams, and that was also a grind of fish , and the fish were all small, we landed only 13 bass that day and only three were keepers. We'll get them next time.

April 18, 2010 morning trip

Striped bass trip Eddie and Mike and the crew, today's striped bass fishing was all in the ocean on jigs. As soon as we got down to the South we started marking heavy schools striped bass down 40 to 50 feet as soon as our jigs hit the bottom with a couple of cranks, the rods were bent with multiple hookups , these striped bass that were coming over the rail was a nice class of fish in the 15 to 22 pound class. We were done with our limits on one drift over the body of fish, in the first hour we already had up wards of the 20 fish that was landed and released. By nine o'clock the guys decided to call it a day, it was one insane body of fish that was hanging around down to the South our customers could not believe their eyes what they were seeing That day. It was one experience that will not a forgotten with the amount of fish being caught.

April 16, 2010 night trip

Striped bass trip was for Lou and Barbara and their crew. We didn't expect much to happen that night, it was their first trip of the year and the winds were blowing hard out of the East 15 to 25 kn it was definitely crappy, one good thing that we had was the beginning of the incoming water that made it fishable, once we set up on double anchors keepers from swinging. Once we started chumming with clams it only took about a half an hour to get out first striped bass then after that eight more striped bass follow. Then it started to rain real hard and we called it a night be packed it in a little after nine o'clock. Not bad for that crappy night it's a good sign.

2010 fishing has started out really good . . .

with our first codfish trip of the year producing 50 codfish with the only 18 keepers fish ranged between 5 to 10 pounds it was a great trip, the weather was great mid-40s in mid-January it doesn't get better than that it was an awesome trip for every body.

2010 winter flounder fishing

We decided to put our flounder fishing on hold this year due to the new regulations on that new 2 fish per person limits. So what we decided to do for the beginning of April, is to scout around looking for those striped bass and let me tell you it wasn't too hard to find them, we found them from the Raritan Bay right out into the ocean, all the striped bass in the ocean was jig fishing only, which was producing fish in the 20 pound class, all the striped bass fishing in RaritanBay, we started out with the usual clam fishing which was producing pretty good numbers of fish but the fish were a smaller class in early April. 5 to 15 pound class, it is a great sign for striped bass fishing we also seen great numbers of bunker appearing in our back bays.
